May 3rd newsletter

We have some fun things going on this week.  Monday at 1:00 is the Reading Olympics assembly.  Tuesday is our field trip.  I will try to take some pictures for our blog!  The weather says it may rain and it is supposed to be between 40-50, so please be sure they are dressed warm enough.  Thursday and Friday are Dibels testing.  Make sure your student gets enough sleep and has a good breakfast!  Friday is the PTA school carnival.  If you can, we still need donations in our classroom.  The theme for our classroom is movie night.  The bin is looking pretty empty!

Our spelling words for this week are: cow, how, town, out, mouse, mouth, gone, been, other, and ground.

April 26 Newsletter

This week we are doing reading block assessments.  Because we had a short week, we didn't have a spelling test.  We did review the spelling words.  They are:  her, fern, bird, dirt, fur, burn, from, beautiful, places, and animals.  We will spend some more time going over them and have the test on Friday.

Remember the dance festival is Thursday night, April 29th at Bear River High School gym.  It is at 6:00 pm.  The first graders are wearing red, white, or blue shirts and jeans.  Also if they have a matching bandana, they can wear that.

The annual egg drop is this week.  April 30th.  We are meeting at Bear River Park at 1:00.  Any entries are due by Wednesday.

April 12 newsletter

Spelling words for the week:  born, corn, cork, fork, horn, pork, nothing, thought, early, and along.

Remember parent teacher conferences are Wednesday till 6:15 and Thursday till 6:45.  Just drop in when you have some time.  Also no school on Friday, Monday, or Tuesday.  Hope everyone has a great spring break!

April 5 Newslettter

I am getting better at this blogging thing.  I put our class schedule out to the right side (for now- unless I change my mind).  That way I only have to put extra special things on my weekly schedule.  I will also keep posting the spelling words for the week.

So, this week's schedule

Wednesday:
We are having a class party- since the students filled the bean jar.  WAY TO GO FIRST GRADERS!  They are amazing!  The kids can wear pajamas that day and bring pillows or blankets.  We are going to have some extra reading time!

Friday:
7:00- Parents and pastries

Spelling words are cart, art, barn, yarn, arm, harm, better, children, or, and round.

Awards assembly

Here is a picture of all of my award winners.  The categories were star of academics- Carter, Trapper, and Krisanne; star of dedication- Ruthie, Ben, and Jordan; star of citizenship- Maddie, Belle, and Byron; star of patriotism- Heber, Emily, and Tyler.

March 29th newsletter

This week is girl's week so the girls get some extra special treatment.  We also have the awards assembly.  I will send home letters on Monday so parents will know if they need to be there.  We finished our testing and I am trying to get the grades entered on Pinnacle.

Week of March 29th schedule:
Tuesday:  Buddy read and music.  We are also having a princess assembly for the girls.

Wednesday:  9:30-  1st grade awards assembly and PE

Thursday:  Library- remember your books and computer

Friday:  Art.  We are having a safety presentation by one of the local deputies.
